Budle Bay is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and is an estuary for two streams, the Waren and the Low. Mud plains left behind at low tide are a haven for bird life. Wigeon, Mallard, Greylag and Pink-footed geese are among birds that migrate from the Arctic in late summer and use Budle Bay as shelter during winter.
Just a few miles from Budle Bay is the historic and naturally beautiful Holy Island - the birth place of Christianity in England. Accessible by a causeway at low tide, Holy Island is one of England's most unique landmarks and plays host to a spectacular array of marine wildlife.
